2 Guidances on Developing Rhinitis Drug Products

FDA has posted two draft guidances on developing drug products for allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. The first guidance, “Allergic Rhinitis: Developing Drug Products for Treatment,” addresses issues of trial design, effectiveness, and safety for new products being developed for treating seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis. The second guidance, “Nonallergic Rhinitis: Developing Drug Products for Treatment,” discusses issues regarding the definition of a clinical phenotype, trial design, efficacy, and safety for such new drug products. it also covers development programs for products intended to treat vasomotor rhinitis.
