# 2 New EU Agreement States

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) says that Luxembourg and the Netherlands have been added to the list of states in the FDA-European Union (EU) mutual recognition agreement. An EMA [announcement](https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/two-additional-countries-benefit-eu-us-mutual-recognition-agreement-inspections-1?ref=fdaweb.com) says FDA has confirmed the ability of regulators in the two countries to carry out current good manufacturing practice inspections at a level equivalent to FDA. FDA can now rely on 26 EU member states whose inspection results can replace its own inspections, EMA says.
