2 Pain Drug NDAs Head to Panel

Federal Register notice: FDA has announced a 1/15/2020 Anesthetic and Analgesic Drug Products Advisory Committee and the Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee joint meeting. During the morning session, the committees will discuss an Esteve Pharmaceuticals NDA for a combination tramadol 44 mg and celecoxib 56 mg tablet, indicated for managing acute pain in adults that is severe enough to require an opioid analgesic and for which alternative treatments are inadequate. During the afternoon session, they will discuss an Intellipharmaceutics NDA for an extended-release oral tablet formulation of oxycodone for managing moderate-to-severe pain when a continuous, around-the-clock opioid analgesic is needed for an extended period of time.
