45 CDRH Safety Communications in 2022: Report

CDRH says it issued 45 safety-related communications between 1/1/2022 and 12/31/2022. In a report to Congress mandated by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, which was posted six months past its due date, CDRH says there were 30 Medical Device Safety Communications and 15 Letters to Healthcare Providers.

“Of the 45 safety-related communications issued in 2022,” the report says, “23 provided new information about device safety, eight provided new information about recalls that had resolved the problem, and 14 provided updates to previous communications issued by CDRH.”

The report was due to Congress no later than 9/30/2023.
