FDA says that Apotex, Amneal, Marksans, Lupin, and Teva have recalled certain extended-release metformin products because the agency’s testing showed N-Nitrosodimethylamine above the acceptable intake limit in certain lots. “There are additional companies that manufacture ER metformin and supply a significant portion of the U.S. market, whose products are not being recalled at this time,” FDA says in a [statement](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-updates-and-press-announcements-ndma-metformin?utm%5Fcampaign=FDA%20names%20companies%20recalling%20ER%20metformin&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua).
