There are several decisions facing new FDA commissioner **Robert Califf** over the next few months that will give insight into his thinking, according to a *Barron’s* [article](https://www.barrons.com/articles/fda-drug-stocks-decisions-51647468511?ref=fdaweb.com) (subscription required). The article identifies and describes these issues: 

- Amylyx Pharmaceuticals’ experimental ALS therapy AMX0035 could put the agency into another Biogen Aduhelm-type situation and raises questions about FDA response to advocacy group pressure;
- consideration of additional Alzheimer’s disease drugs;
- the future of the accelerated approval pathway;
- authorization of additional Covid-19 vaccines; and
- Covid-19 vaccinations for young children.
