A-S Medication Solutions Recalls Acetaminophen Extra Strength Tabs: FDA

FDA says A-S Medication Solutions announced 4/2 a recall of acetaminophen extra strength 500 mg tablets in 100 count bottles contained in health essentials kits distributed by Humana because they contain an incomplete prescription drug label rather than the required OTC drug facts label. An agency statement says using acetaminophen could be potentially harmful if safety warnings included on the OTC label are not observed, including liver damage if consumers exceed the recommended dose, combined use with excessive consumption of alcohol, or allergies to the active ingredient. To date, A-S has not received any reports of adverse events related to the recall, FDA says.
