Able’s Mach Screw Clip Cleared by FDA

FDA has cleared an Able Medical Devices 510(k) for its Mach Screw Clip System, a single-use, sterile screw delivery device. By clipping directly onto the Valkyrie Thoracic Fixation System, the the clip delivers screws fast and accurately for thoracic fixation, the company says. They are pre-loaded with screws and are available in a modular two- or four-screw configuration.

“The Mach Screw Clip System is designed to simplify and speed up sternal closure” the company says. “By eliminating the need to go back-and-forth to individually load screws, we’ve removed procedural steps and increased efficiency, thus saving time in the O.R. and the associated costs.”
