Act on Medical Dye Shortage: 30 GOP Representatives

Some 30 Republican members of the House have written to President Joe Biden asking him to work to alleviate a shortage of intravenous contrast fluids in hospitals. A statement (includes the text of the letter) from Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA), one of those signing the 6/14 letter, says CT and MRI scans have had to be postponed due to the shortage.

The representatives say they understand that the shortage “has risen from lockdowns by the Chinese Communist Party and our nation’s dependency on Chinese-made medical products. It is imperative that you prioritize efforts to domestically produce medical products such as intravenous contrast fluids and reduce federal barriers that prevent disbursement of needed medical products.”
