Acutus Medical Atrial Fibrillation Trial Gets Go Ahead

FDA has given Acutus Medical the green light to initiate its atrial fibrillation clinical trial to assess the AcQBlate Force Sensing Ablation Catheter and System. The trial is expected to enroll 350 subjects to evaluate the device’s safety and efficacy in treating both paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation.

The AcQBlate Force gold-tipped catheter and system is intended to show physicians, in real-time, how much contact force is being applied to the heart during ablations. “Studies have shown the utility of real-time contact force information in helping physicians guide safe and effective therapy, which may improve patient outcomes,” the company says.
