Adamis Recalls 4 Lots of Symjepi

FDA says Adamis Pharmaceuticals is recalling four lots of Symjepi (epinephrine) injection distributed in the U.S. by US WorldMeds due to potential clogging of the needle preventing dispensing of the drug. A company 3/21 announcement says Symjepi is indicated for the emergency treatment of allergic reactions (Type 1) including anaphylaxis to stinging insects and biting insects, allergen immunotherapy, foods, drugs, diagnostic testing substances and other allergens, as well as idiopathic anaphylaxis or exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

“Although not confirmed to be related to the recall,” the announcement says, “there have been two different customer complaints on three syringes, regarding difficulty in dispensing the product, to date. However, neither US WorldMeds nor Adamis Pharmaceuticals has received, or is aware of, adverse events related to this recall.”
