# Allergan Recalls 1 Lot of Mispackaged Contraceptives

Allergan has recalled one lot of oral contraceptive Taytulla (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol capsules and ferrous fumarate capsules) 1mg/20mcg, 6x28 physician sample pack, indicated for use by women to prevent pregnancy. Allergan recently received a physician report that indicated four placebo capsules (first four on-therapy days) were placed out of order in a sample pack. “As a result of this packaging error, oral contraceptive capsules, that are taken out of sequence, may place the user at risk for contraceptive failure and unintended pregnancy,” a [recall notice](https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm609044.htm?utm%5Fcampaign=Allergan%20Issues%20Nationwide%20Voluntary%20Recall%20of%20TAYTULLA%C2%AE%20Softgel%20Capsules%201mg%2F20mcg%20Sample%20Packs&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua) says.
