ANDA Deficiency Communication MAPP

CDER has issued a Manual of Policies and Procedures (MAPP), Communicating Certain Deficiencies Identified During Filing Review of ANDAs, outlining policies and procedures for how the Office of Generic Drugs’ Division of Filing Review (DFR) will communicate with applicants about ANDAs that contain minor technical deficiencies and/or deficiencies that may be resolved with additional clarification from the applicant. The MAPP applies specifically to DFR reviewers and project managers.

The document fulfills a commitment made during the GDUFA 2 negotiations to set forth procedures for filing reviewers on the communication of minor technical deficiencies and deficiencies potentially resolved with information in the ANDA at original submission, to provide applicants with an opportunity for resolution within seven days.
