Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test Criteria Site

FDA has launched a Web page on FDA-recognized susceptibility test interpretive criteria (STIC). The page includes information on both antibacterial and antifungal susceptibility test interpretive criteria.

According to the page, the 21^st Century Cures Act requires FDA to post online information about the agency’s recognition or withdrawal from recognition, in whole or in part, of STIC established by a standards development organization and online lists of exceptions or additions to the recognized STIC that the development organization established.

FDA says it will update the information every six months through the publication of a notice on the Web page.
