Apotex Recalls 1 Lot of Allergy Spray

Apotex has recalled one lot of fluticasone propionate nasal spray (50 mcg per spray) due to the potential for the product to contain small glass particles. The glass particles could block the actuator and impact pump functionality, a recall notice says. “Local trauma to the nasal mucosa might occur with use of the defective product,” it says. To date, Apotex Corp. has not received any reports of adverse events related to the problem. The product is indicated for treating seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and managing sinus pain and pressure associated with allergic rhinitis.
