ASCA 2021 Annual Report

CDRH has issued the 2021 annual report on the Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment pilot program. The program is designed to enhance the use of declarations of conformity that should translate into greater consistency and predictability in the agency’s approach to assessing conformance to standards in medical device review by enhancing agency confidence in the testing laboratories’ test methods and results.

The report provides background, including the pilot goals, design, and current standards; outlines progress on pilot implementation; and gives an overview of the pilot’s next steps.
