Astria Gets Fast Track for Angioedema Drug

FDA has granted Astria Therapeutics fast track status for STAR-0215 for treating hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare genetic disorder that causes severe unpredictable swelling attacks throughout the body. The therapy is currently being evaluated in the ALPHA-STAR clinical trial in people with HAE, and “initial proof-of-concept results expected in mid-2024,” according to the company.

Astria describes STAR-0215 as a monoclonal antibody inhibitor of plasma kallikrein. It is designed to be dosed once every three or six months, it says.
