AuroMedics Recalls Ampicillin and Sulbactam Lots

FDA says that AuroMedics Pharma is recalling two lots of ampicillin and sulbactam for injection USP 3 grams/single-dose vial to the hospital/user level due to the presence of visible particulate matter. The agency post of a company statement says the recall follows customer complaints about the presence of red particulate matter in the product that is believed to be red rubber particles from the manufacturing process of the active ingredients.

The recalled lots have an 8/2019 expiration date and were shipped to wholesalers and hospitals nationwide between 10/19 and 10/26/17.
