Axilum Robotics TMS Positioning Device Cleared

FDA has cleared an Axilum Robotics 510(k) for the TMS-Cobot TS MV, indicated for the spatial positioning and orientation of the MagVenture Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy system treatment coil. The device is based on the company’s new platform that uses a proprietary optical tracking system, which “allows the control in real time of the position, orientation and contact of the stimulation device, with patient head motion compensation,” the company says. The MagVenture TMS Therapy System is indicated for treating major depressive disorder (XXX ALL LOWER CASE XXX)in adult patients who have failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant medication in the current episode.
