Azurity Pharma Recalls 1 Lot of Zenzedi
Azurity Pharmaceuticals has recalled one lot (# F230169A) of narcolepsy drug Zenzedi CII (dextroamphetamine sulfate tablets, USP) 30 mg after a report from a pharmacist said carbinoxamine maleate tablets were contained in a Zenzedi-labeled bottle.
“Patients who take carbinoxamine instead of Zenzedi will experience undertreatment of their symptoms, which may result in functional impairment and an increased risk of accidents or injury,” a recall notice says. “Patients who unknowingly consume carbinoxamine could experience adverse events which include, but are not limited to, drowsiness, sleepiness, central nervous system (CNS) depression, increased eye pressure, enlarged prostate urinary obstruction, and thyroid disorder.”
To date, Azurity says it has not received any serious adverse event reports related to the recall.
