# Baxter Importing IV Drugs from Ireland

FDA says that to address critical drug shortages in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Baxter Healthcare Corp. is coordinating with the agency to increase the availability of products from the company’s manufacturing facility in Ireland. An FDA [notice](https://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/DrugSafety/DrugShortages/UCM579560.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) lists the four IV products the company is temporarily importing and says they are all manufactured in Ireland and distributed in Europe.

At this time, the notice says, only Baxter is authorized by FDA to import or distribute the products in the U.S. “FDA has not approved the listed products manufactured by Baxter’s manufacturing facility in Ireland,” the notice says. The notice also contains tables showing key differences in the labeling between U.S. marketed products and the European products.
