# Baxter Infusion Pump Issue Early Alert

FDA has published a medical device early alert about an issue with the Baxter Sigma Spectrum Infusion System and Spectrum IQ Infusion System. The [alert](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls/early-alert-infusion-pump-issue-baxter-healthcare-corporation?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery) says Baxter has contacted affected customers recommending that certain Spectrum infusion pumps be removed from where they are used or sold.

The notice says Baxter has recalled the pumps due to the potential for missing motor mounting screws that may have occurred during the servicing process. The company is asking that the affected pumps be returned for inspection and reservicing as applicable. Baxter has reported one serious injury related to this issue, FDA says.
