# Baxter: Remove Spectrum Infusion Pumps

FDA says Baxter has issued a letter to affected customers recommending that certain Spectrum infusion pumps be removed from where they are used or sold. An agency [Early Alert](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls/early-alert-infusion-pump-software-issue-baxter?ref=fdaweb.com) said Baxter recommended that customers with the affected pumps remove them from service and check the software version installed on the pump, contacting Baxter to schedule service if required.

The alert says the company stated that certain Spectrum pumps may have an incorrect version of software. It says the issue could result in a delay or interruption of therapy, underinfusion, or overinfusion. Baxter reported no serious injuries or deaths associated with the issue as of 6/12, FDA says.
