BD to Start Alaris Software Remediation

BD says it will begin remediation for the 2/4/20 BD Alaris system 1 recall through a new version of software. The recall notified customers of several conditions under which the Alaris infusion pump may not operate as expected. BD says the new software is expected to remediate the issues identified in the recall notice and provide programming, operational, and cybersecurity updates to affected devices. The software update has not been reviewed or cleared by FDA, it says.
