# BeiGene Drops Ociperlimab Development in Lung Cancer

BeiGene says it is discontinuing development of BGB-A1217 (ociperlimab), an anti-TIGIT antibody, as a potential treatment for lung cancer. The decision was based on an independent data monitoring committee recommendation to terminate the company’s ongoing Phase 3 AdvanTIG-302 trial ([NCT04746924](https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.clinicaltrials.gov%2Fstudy%2FNCT04746924&esheet=54232885&newsitemid=20250403796676&lan=en-US&anchor=NCT04746924&index=1&md5=d6f9df8c247be106cd82dd52286cc041&ref=fdaweb.com)) based on its findings as part of a pre-planned futility analysis. “The overall efficacy and safety data assessment suggested that the study was unlikely to meet the primary endpoint of overall survival,” the company says.

Results from the study will be presented at a later date to help advance the understanding of anti-TIGIT activity, the company says. TIGIT is an immune checkpoint receptor expressed on various immune cells. It normally acts as an inhibitory receptor, suppressing T cell activity and promoting immune evasion by cancer cells, according to the National Cancer Institute.
