BioMarin Sells Priority Review for $125 Million

BioMarin Pharmaceutical has agreed to sell for $125 million its Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher (PRV) it was awarded by FDA in April when it received approval for Brineura, a new biological product for patients with late infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis type 2, a form of Batten disease. The company did not disclose the identity of the firm agreeing to purchase the PRV.

This is the second voucher BioMarin has sold, with the first in 7/2014 sold for $67.5 million to Regeneron Ireland. That voucher was awarded when BioMarin received approval of Vimizim for patients with Mucopolysaccharidosis type IVA, which is also known as Morquio A syndrome.
