bioMérieux Gets Vitek Compact Pro Cleared

FDA has cleared a bioMérieux 510(k) for the latest version of its Vitek Compact Pro for microorganism identification (ID) and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) to help diagnose infectious diseases and combat antimicrobial resistance. The device is designed to provide efficient workflows, and fast routine ID/AST results and microbiology expertise for “accurate and confident diagnostics insights,” according to the company. It says the system is ideally suited for small and medium-sized laboratories. Additionally, bioMérieux says the device features an intuitive user interface, and updated software with a “comprehensive knowledge database” for both clinical and industrial laboratories.
