# Bipartisan Bill to Lower Rx Drug Costs

Reps. **Eric Sorensen** (D-IL) and **Stephanie Bice** (R-OK) have introduced the Stop Games Act, which they say would crack down on tactics used by drug companies to block cheaper generic drugs from entering the market. A [statement](https://sorensen.house.gov/media/press-releases/sorensen-introduces-bipartisan-legislation-lower-prescription-drug-costs?ref=fdaweb.com) issued by Sorensen’s office says the bill would crack down on sham citizen petitions that drug companies file to slow the FDA approval process for competing generic drugs. The bill would allow the agency to reject a petition if it determines that the purpose of the claim is to stop or delay the entry of a new drug into the market.
