Blackstone Labs Founder Gets 54 Months on Steroids Charges

The Department of Justice says Blackstone Labs founder Aaron Singerman, Delray Beach, FL, was sentenced by a Florida federal judge to 54 months in prison and ordered to forfeit $2.9 million for conspiring to sell illegal anabolic steroids and other products marketed as dietary supplements. A department statement says that in pleading guilty, Singerman admitted to leading a conspiracy to sell products through Boca Raton, FL-based Blackstone labeled as dietary supplements that were illegal under federal law because they were not approved by FDA and were controlled substances. According to court documents, Blackstone defrauded FDA as part of the scheme.

Six individual defendants and three other corporations previously pleaded guilty to charges related to the conspiracy, the department says.
