C.O. Truxton Recalls Phenobarbital and Amitriptyline

C.O. Truxton has expanded an ongoing recall to now include all phenobarbital and amitriptyline tablets that were repackaged into a Truxton label due to the potential for a label mix-up. The company says it has not received any complaints about the additional products recalled, according to a recall notice.

If mislabeled, inadvertent exposure to, or overdose of, phenobarbital could cause severe intoxication, which may lead to cardiogenic shock, renal failure, coma, or death. the notice says. Likewise, inadvertent exposure to, or overdose of, amitriptyline could cause uneven heartbeats, extreme drowsiness, confusion, agitation, vomiting, hallucinations, hot or cold sensations, muscle stiffness, seizures, or fainting.
