Canon Aquilion Exceed CT System Cleared

FDA has cleared a Canon Medical Systems 510(k) for the Aquilion Exceed LB CT system, which is intended to provide clinicians the opportunity to see more during radiation therapy planning to improve accuracy, precision and speed. The device features a large bore opening (90 cm), edge-to-edge extended Field-of-View (90 cm) reconstruction and wide detector coverage (4 cm), according to the company. It is designed to capture clear and distinct images from Canon Medical’s Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine Deep Learning Reconstruction technology, it says, adding that the device can also handle bariatric patients and challenging patient positioning.
