# Cardinal Health Recalls Infusion Pump Syringes

Cardinal Health is recalling its latest version (6/2023) of its Monoject syringes branded as “Cardinal Health Monoject syringes” because their dimensions differ from the previously branded syringes and they may be incompatible with syringe infusion pumps. “The dimensional changes made to the affected Cardinal Health Monoject syringes when used with syringe pumps may result in pump performance issues such as overdose, underdose, delay in therapy, and delays in occlusion alarms,” a[ recall notice](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls/cardinal-health-recalls-monoject-disposable-syringes-incompatibilities-syringe-pumps?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery) says. “Cardinal Health has received 15 reports of delayed therapy due to syringe infusion pumps not recognizing syringes, and 13 reports of inaccurate volume/rate dispensing, including some injuries.”
