# Cardinal Health Recalls Procedure Kits

Cardinal Health has recalled its Covidien and Cardinal Health brand urology and operating room-specific kits and trays that contain 0.9% sodium chloride irrigation USP and sterile water for irrigation USP supplied by Nurse Assist. The recall is based on last month’s [Nurse Assist, LLC recall](https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/nurse-assist-llc-issues-recall-09-sodium-chloride-irrigation-usp-and-sterile-water-irrigation-usp?ref=fdaweb.com#:~:text=for%20Irrigation%20USP-,Company%20Announcement,result%20in%20a%20nonsterile%20product.) of the sodium chloride irrigation and sterile water due to the potential for a lack of sterility assurance, which could result in a nonsterile product, a [recall notice](https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/cardinal-health-issues-medical-device-recall-nurse-assist-products-contained-within-kitstrays?ref=fdaweb.com) says. In populations most at risk, such as patients who are immunocompromised, “there is a possibility that the use of the affected product could potentially result in severe or life-threatening adverse events,” it says. To date, there have been no reports of patient harm.
