CareFusion Recalls Avea Ventilator Due to Faulty Fuse

CareFusion has recalled AVEA Ventilator because of a faulty fuse on the ventilators’ alarm board, which may cause the device to unexpectedly shut down. If the ventilator shuts down, a patient may not receive necessary oxygen, which could cause serious adverse health consequences, including death, an FDA recall notice says. The devices are intended for continuous breathing support for infants, children and adults, and are only used in hospitals and other health care facilities. The agency says 501 devices are affected and they were manufactured between 11/13/2015 to 1/4/2016.
