CDER Office of Hematology, Oncology Products Reorganized

The CDER Office of Hematology and Oncology Products (OHOP) has been reorganized as the Office of Oncologic Diseases (OOD). An agency announcement says that OHOP director Richard Pazdur has been named acting director of OOD. Pazdur also directs the FDA Oncology Center of Excellence that was established in 2017 to help expedite the development of oncology and hematology medical products and support an integrated approach in the clinical evaluation of drugs, biologics, and medical devices to treat cancer.

The announcement shows the six divisions in the new OOD and explains their general responsibilities and activities.
