CDER Top Drug Compounding Official Leaving Agency

CDER senior science advisor for compounding Julie Dohm is leaving the agency to join Covington & Burling in its Washington, DC office, effective 3/29. As the top drug compounding official at the agency, Dohm led compounding activities involving multiple offices throughout the agency. She manages teams that implement legislation, perform inspections, prepare enforcement actions, develop policy, and conduct outreach to stakeholders.

Dohm joined FDA as a civil litigator in the Office of Chief Counsel (OCC) in 2010. She later served on detail as a drugs counselor in the OCC, advising CDER on legal issues relating to generics and biosimilars.

She has bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and chemistry from the University of Chicago, a doctoral degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University, and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
