Centerline Biomedical 510(k) for Surgical Positioning System

Centerline Biomedical has submitted a 510(k) for its Intra-Operative Positioning System (IOPS), a non-radiation-based surgical navigation system. The device is intended to leverage anatomical mapping and modeling algorithms and electromagnetic tracking technology to provide three-dimensional color visualization and real time guidance during endovascular procedures, the company says. “Developed at Cleveland Clinic’s Heart and Vascular Institute, IOPS will provide an alternate path from the harmful cancer-causing X-ray fluoroscopy which is currently the standard of care, despite visualization challenges,” it says.
