# CGMP, Other Issues Found at Guangzhou Minghui Cosmetics

FDA says hand sanitizer gel produced by Guangzhou, Minghui Cosmetics Co., Guangzhou, China, which recently registered with the agency as a human drug manufacturer, was detained and refused admission at the border. A 7/6 [Warning Letter](https://www.fda.gov/inspections-compliance-enforcement-and-criminal-investigations/warning-letters/guangzhou-minghui-cosmetics-co-ltd-610575-07062021?ref=fdaweb.com) says agency lab testing of a batch of the detained product found that its strength, purity, or quality fell below that which it purports or is represented to possess. The product was found to be an unapproved new drug that is adulterated and misbranded for several reasons.

FDA recommends that the company engage a qualified consultant to evaluate its operations and assist it in meeting current good manufacturing practice requirements.

The agency placed all drugs and drug products manufactured by the company on an import alert 12/21/20\. Guangzhou was told to respond with a list of specific actions taken to address any violations and prevent their recurrence, with a schedule for completing the actions.
