# Child-Resistant Packaging Label Guidance

FDA has published a draft guidance, *Child-Resistant Packaging Statements in Drug Product Labeling*, to assist firms that choose to include child-resistant packaging (CRP) statements in the drug product labeling. The [guidance](https://www.fda.gov/downloads/Drugs/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/Guidances/UCM569607.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) discusses what information should be included to support CRP statements in labeling for NDAs, ANDAs, BLAs, and supplements to those applications, the agency says.

In addition to providing recommendations for prescription drug labeling, the guidance also makes recommendations for labeling for nonprescription drug products approved under an NDA or ANDA, and those that are marketed under over-the-counter drug review.

FDA says the guidance is intended to help ensure that such labeling is clear, useful, informative and, to the extent possible, consistent in content and format.
