Clinical Hold Placed on Ziopharm Leukemia Trial

FDA has issued a clinical hold on a Ziopharm Oncology Phase 1 trial to evaluate CD19-specific CAR-T therapies manufactured under point-of-care, and requested additional information to support the IND. The clinical trial is intended to evaluate CART cells manufactured with “Sleeping Beauty” technology as an investigational treatment for patients with relapsed or refractory, CD19leukemias and lymphomas. The agency requested additional information related to chemistry, manufacturing and controls, according to the company.
