# Clinical Hold Slapped on BioInvent Myeloma Drug

FDA has placed a clinical hold on a BioInvent International Phase 2 study of the antibody BI-505 in patients with multiple myeloma. The agency told the company that the hold was placed due to an adverse cardiopulmonary event in the clinical study, which is being conducted at the University of Pennsylvania to evaluate the therapy’s ability to “deepen therapeutic response and thereby prevent or delay relapse of multiple myeloma in patients undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) with high-dose melphalan,” according to the company.
