# Clinical Trial Company Owner Pleads Guilty

A Miami, FL, woman who co-owned Unlimited Medical Research, a clinical research site, pleaded guilty 1/12 to obstructing a 2017 FDA regulatory inspection with an alleged scheme to fraudulently falsify clinical trial data. The Department of Justice [says](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/florida-co-owner-clinical-trial-company-pleads-guilty-obstructing-fda-inspection?ref=fdaweb.com) that as part of a plea agreement, **Olga Torres** admitted that she knowingly lied to an FDA investigator during the inspection.

Specifically, the department says, Torres admitted that she falsely portrayed a clinical trial investigating the safety and efficacy of a pediatric asthma drug as having been conducted legitimately and honestly. She said she knew that certain trial data had been falsified. Three other defendants previously pled guilty and were sentenced in connection with falsifying data associated with the clinical trial at Unlimited Medical Research.
