Concept Medical Breakthrough Status on MagicTouch

FDA has granted Concept Medical a “breakthrough device designation” for MagicTouch AVF, a sirolimus drug-coated balloon (DCB) catheter for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty treatment of stenotic lesions related to arteriovenous (AV) fistulae or AV arteriovenous grafts in patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment due to renal failure. The company says “preliminary data using the device at the graft-vein junction of blocked AV grafts, and within native AV fistulas, have been promising to date, with an excellent safety profile and patient acceptability.”
