# Concert Pharma Scraps Schizophrenia Drug

Concert Pharmaceuticals is discontinuing development of schizophrenia drug CTP-692 after reporting disappointing data from a Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating it as an adjunctive treatment. According to the company, the study failed to meet the primary endpoint or other secondary endpoints. CTP-692 is described as a deuterated form of D-serine, an endogenous amino acid that is a co-agonist of the NMDA receptor. Going forward, the company says it will focus its resources on advancing CTP-543, which is currently in a Phase 3 study evaluating it for treating alopecia areata.
