Congressional Committees Set Appropriations Mark-Ups

The Alliance for a Stronger FDA reports in its Friday Update that the House and Senate appropriations committees will hold mark-up sessions in late June and July for the FY 21 appropriations bill. They have not yet indicated specific dates for consideration of specific bills.

The online newsletter’s Analysis and Commentary section makes the case for “FDA exceptionalism” based on (1) the fact that no federal agency has a broader range of responsibilities than FDA and (2) no federal agency’s mission and responsibilities are more affected by changes in science, technology, innovation, and social trends than FDA.
