CoreLink Vertebral Body Replacement Device Cleared

FDA has cleared a CoreLink 510(k) for the F3D Corpectomy VBR System, a vertebral body replacement that is intended to surgically replace one or more damaged vertebral bodies in the cervical and thoracolumbar spine. The implant is designed to provide support while fusion occurs, the company says.

The system comprises an “additively manufactured, single-piece construct in a range of footprint, height, and lordosis options to fit varying patient anatomies,” CoreLink says. 3D-printed Mimetic Metal technology is used in the device to emulate key characteristics of natural bone, it says, adding that the technology provides lower stiffness than machined titanium and minimizes imaging artifact.
