Court Rejects Homeopathic Labeling Suit Settlement

A California federal court has rejected a class action case settlement proposed by Similasan Corp. that has been accused of engaging in false and deceptive labeling of their homeopathic products, among other things. Texas attorney general Ken Paxton, who opposed the settlement along with seven other state attorneys general, says the settlement would have only paid class attorneys and two named plaintiffs, while affected customers would not receive any monetary compensation and would waive their claims for compensation.

Paxton says the attorneys general filed an amicus brief urging the court to reject the settlement as unfair, unreasonable, and inadequate for consumers. He says the court order rejecting the settlement quoted from the brief heavily.
