# Covid-19 Lab Test FAQs

FDA has posted Frequently Asked Questions relating to diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 (popularly known as coronavirus or Covid-19). The [document’s](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/emergency-situations-medical-devices/faqs-diagnostic-testing-sars-cov-2?ref=fdaweb.com) first question asks if labs that offer their test under the new FDA policy have to report all their results as presumptive. The agency answers that under the policy in the [guidance](https://www.fdaweb.com/policy-for-coronavirus-testing-labs/) the first five positive and first five negative results should be reported as presumptive and confirmed by an Emergency Use Authorization authorized test. If all 10 of the results are confirmed by such a test, confirmatory tests for subsequent results are not recommended in the guidance.
