Criminal Probe Nets 2 Guilty Pleas Over Stolen Test Strips

An FDA Office of Criminal Investigations probe has resulted in guilty pleas by Jennifer Robertson (Battle Creek, MI) and Michelle McAllister (Jerome, MI) over their participation in a multi-year, interstate conspiracy to transport and traffic diabetic test strips stolen from the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The test strips were sold to Steven Anderson, a Pennsylvania man who is facing federal charges too.

In 2017, Robertson began stealing boxes of diabetic test strips from the pharmacy where she worked, and then she would meet McAllister and sell them for cash, according to a Justice Department release. “Throughout the scheme, Robertson admitted stealing over 7,500 boxes of diabetic test strips, costing the Battle Creek VA Pharmacy over $400,000,” it says.
