Cubicin Not Withdrawn Due to Safety/Efficacy

Federal Register notice: FDA has determined that Cubist Pharmaceuticals’ Cubicin and Cubicin RF (daptomycin) powder for injection were not withdrawn due to any safety or effectiveness reasons. The determination will allow FDA to approve ANDAs that reference the products if all other legal and regulatory requirements are met. The drugs are indicated for treating complicated skin and skin structure infections in adult and pediatric patients, and Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections in adult patients including those with right-sided infective endocarditis.
